‘John Wick 3: Parabellum’ is a treat for the action movie lovers, and solidifies the era of Keanu Reeves. This movie does little more work towards the lore of the world, and it shouldn’t take too long for a spin-off to get started. This feels very much like Fast and Furious franchise, where they started as street racing movie and now the only thing they’ve not done is going to the moon. Exactly like them, John wick started as a revenge story of mob assassin and now we’ve seen that 80% population of New York is killer and there’s a strange dude lives in the middle of a desert.
I think ‘John Wick 2’ was better in storyline and action as well. ‘John Wick 3’ had great action sequences, with superb gun violence, I think that the action scene in John wick 2 after he is escaping after doing the task, had much better thrilling actions. The use of guns with accurate precision and the fast moving was good and real and first time such a thing was seen on movie. John wick 3 though had such scenes, they were merely a better copy of previous ones. Not to mention, that John Wick 3 too had some major interesting action scenes (never seen before), they just didn’t have you goosebumps. If you hadn’t seen any John Wick movie and see this movie, you will be like, ” Whoa! balls to the wall action here”. John makes a decision, and he stands by it. I think that here John Wick’s character has been thoroughly compromised just so that the fans could have a small twist. And even if John like others could get confused , there is surely a better way to show. I literally think, that one or two flashbacks might have done it.
Movie Quality: 9/10
The print is presented in 4K/2160p with a 2.40:1 aspect ratio. ‘John Wick Chapter 3’ not only ups its game in terms of the visuals from the first two ‘John Wick’ films but the visuals are mesmerizing in 4K. I don’t think the locals, including Italy have looked this good in high definition. Colors are absolutely eye popping and jump off the screen like you would not believe. Red’s, Blue’s, and Green’s dominate the color palette throughout the entire film. HDR is well done and doesn’t hinder the picture quality at all. Details are fantastic, especially with the violence on the screen with blood splattering all over the place. The lighting is also fantastic here as you can see in the darker scenes as an example where the images doesn’t look like one dark black screen as in some films. Black levels are deep in this film and stand out very nicely with the color palette used. John’s suit is a perfect example as to how good the black levels are here in this film.
Video Quality: 10/10
The audio is presented in DTS-HD MA lossless 5.1 mix, Dolby TrueHD 7.1, and Dolby Atmos. I do love with these 4K releases that we do get more audio choices. If I thought the video was impressive, the audio mix is out of this world. The audio is something that you need to experience, and I would go as far as say that this is at a 12 out of 10. The thundering bass stood out as one of the most positive aspects of the audio mix in my view. It was so perfect sounding, which I haven’t heard such great bass in a 4K Blu-ray film. This film is so dynamic sounding, balls to the wall non-stop action which takes advantage of the soundfield. Then add the dynamic sounds coming from the rears in the soundfield. You can hear the various gun shots just whiz by from speaker to speaker, it is just amazing when you have the correct audio setup.

Movies like John Wick, John Wick 2 and John Wick 3 Parabellum are like classical music smooth, collective and stunning. ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’ is two hours of your life that will pass by very quickly. This is as non-stop action as films get. I think this is the third best action series currently producing movies (after ‘James Bond’ and ‘Mission Impossible’).
